I am Cat Williams, the founder of Stay Calm and Content. I work independently as a relationship counsellor, coach, writer, speaker and trainer specialising in relationships, resilience, stress, well-being and self-confidence.
My mother was a Relate counsellor throughout my childhood so I benefitted from many years of conversations and debates around the kitchen table.
I have a BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy from Kings College London and have found this to be a useful foundation for my present work. After qualifying with the renowned UK counselling charity Relate in 2007, I worked with military individuals and couples in Germany.
I am a British Army wife and mother, which has meant frequent moves to new locations around the world. However, this has allowed me the privilege of working and empathising with countless men and women, all experiencing a wide spectrum of challenging circumstances.
These unique experiences contributed to my decision to write ‘Stay Calm and Content No Matter What Life Throws At You’ to share with the world my unique approach. Both professional and reader reviews say that my succinct approach is empowering and shows how readers can face life’s challenges with clarity and confidence.
As a result of the book I am requested to write articles and provide expert comment for online and print publications, some of these links can be found on the home page. I have been a guest on the BBC, ITV and CHAT TV (Canada).
Whilst posted to Canada from 2012-2014 I trained in counselling and coaching via the telephone and Skype. This makes me accessible to anyone wherever they are in the world.
My face-to-face practice is located near Chester in the UK from which I hold sessions for individuals and couples, and plan my speeches and workshops for schools, workplaces and groups. I hold a current DBS certificate, am fully insured and independently supervised.
